The combination of quantum physics and information technology has the potential to produce a new information processing device. For example, quantum computers to manipulate data quantum mechanically, improving existing technology. QLA researchers, recruited both locally and internationally work on problems related to and anticipating powerful new quantum technologies, including quantum computing and communication, quantum material and devices, and fundamental physics.
QUANTUM INFORMATION
QLA has a strong partnership with major international laboratories, universities and research centers where there is strong coordination and a continuous exchange of personnel between QLA and international partners. This helps build expertise and minimize the risks inherent in building expensive experimental prototypes. QLA’s scientific goal is to develop and utilize the power of quantum information science for the benefit of Africa and wider humanity.
