Mike departed from his engineering roots into the Mathematical Sciences when he first studied at AIMS-Ghana during the 2013-2014 academic year. Right after, he completed the Perimeter Scholars International program at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, while studying for a research masters in theoretical physics awarded by the University of Ghana. He has previously worked as an academic tutor in AIMS-Ghana, and continues to work as a tutor in his PhD position.

His current primary research interest is in operator algebras and their application to the problem of error correction in quantum computing.
